Start-up Business Adviser (Full time, 35 hours per week.  Aberdeen)

Elevator works across Scotland to help facilitate the start-up, acceleration and growth of new and existing businesses through its unique delivery of Business Gateway services and a range of accelerator programmes.

We play a key role in boosting economic and business growth across Tayside and Aberdeenshire, supporting more start-ups in Scotland than anyone else.

Each year we help over 2,000 new businesses to start-up, deliver in excess of 500 workshops, and masterclasses, hosts conferences and events and hold our own annual Business Awards. We are recognised for having established two Centres for Entrepreneurship and for accelerating the growth ambitions of businesses across three cities. In addition to providing business support, over 300 small businesses view our 20 Business Centres as their home from home.

We have an opportunity for a full time Start-Up Business Adviser to join our team, based in Aberdeen, as part of the Business Gateway service - delivering enhanced business support throughout Aberdeen city and shire. We are pioneers within our field and this is an exciting time to join our organisation.

As a vital member of our team, we’d expect that you already have a proven skill set and will be able to demonstrate that you are able to handle a variety of Business Advisory duties including, but not limited to:

  • Managing a portfolio of pre-start and newly started businesses
  • Advising clients of additional areas of relevant support
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with local intermediaries
  • Attending networking events
  • Proactively developing new business avenues
  • Keeping accurate database records

We are looking for an individual with a business related degree and/or experience of running their own business.  You must also have a full UK driving licence.  If you feel that you can offer these skills and bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm to the role, we can offer you a supportive team environment where you will quickly make a genuine difference to the future of our region.
