Do you know someone who goes the extra mile to help new or existing businesses?

This is your opportunity to nominate and reward the North East business community’s unsung heroes; those people that quietly get on with running their own business, doing their day job, but who will happily lend a hand when it’s needed.

They might be professional business advisors, accountants, solicitors, mentors or bank managers.

If you think you know someone who you would like to reward for their above and beyond the call of duty efforts get in touch with the Enterprise Projects team and we’ll help you nominate them.

Gerry Brough presenting Duncan Skinner with his Award Last year Duncan Skinner of Wood Group PSN was named entrepreneurial supporter of the year. He was the focal point behind the successful relaunch of Glencraft after it closed its doors in 2009 following 160 years of trading. All staff – the majority of whom were disabled – were made redundant. Duncan met with liquidators and created a new business plan for Glencraft and engaged with a wide range of agencies to get the funding, social and political will in place to get the venture up and running once more. It was recognised that, without his support, Glencraft would have closed down with little future prospects of employment or training for staff.
