  • Who is eligible to enter? The competition is open to anyone planning or running a business that operates in Aberdeen City or Shire.
  • How to enter? Submit your details and video link HERE.
  • When is the cut off date and time? All entries must be sent by 5 pm on Friday, 28th September 2018.
  • Do entrants need to be above or below a certain age? Entrants can be any age with any type of business!
  • How many videos can I submit? 1 video per business.
  • Can videos be submitted any way other than by uploading to Youtube or Vimeo? Unfortunately, we can only accept videos submitted via Youtube or Vimeo.
  • How long should the videos be? The video should be 1 minute long, no longer.
  • How many people can be in the video? Any amount of people can be included in the video application and pitch.
  • What happens after the video is submitted? Elevator and the University of Aberdeen Business School will review all video applications and pick 5 finalists. The 5 finalists will be invited to undertake a 2-minute LIVE pitch at Elevator’s Making it Happen Conference, on Thursday 11th October 2018 in front of an audience of 420 and a panel of judges.
  • How are the 5 finalists chosen? Elevator and the University of Aberdeen Business School will judge all video applications based on the 1-minute video. Please ensure you read the requirements before submitting the video.
  • When will the 5 finalists be announced? The Finalists will be contacted and announced on Tuesday, 2nd October 2018.
  • Are there any specific requirements for the video content? You will be judged on the quality of the pitch, overall idea and use of money so please make sure these are described as clearly as possible in the 1-minute time frame.
  • What is the prize? The winner of the best pitch will be given a £1000 cash prize sponsored by our partner, University of Aberdeen Business School to use for their business. Evidence will be submitted to Elevator and University of Aberdeen Business School to prove that funds are being used for the purpose indicated in the pitch.
