Xcite Media Ltd, event organisers behind the Scottish Home Show (SHS) 2014, are today lending support to local students, sole traders and small businesses associated with the home improvement sector, by giving them the chance to showcase their products or services to visitors of one of the largest home improvement exhibitions in Scotland – all for free.
In partnership with Federation of Small Businesses and Enterprise North East Trust (Enterprise), the competition, which launches today (Friday, August 15th 2014), invites students, sole traders or small businesses which have been trading for less than 18 months to submit a proposed stand design for the chance to win a 3×2 shell scheme stand and power supply at this year’s show from 26-28th September at the AECC.
Isla Stewart, business development manager for Xcite Media, comments: “For many small businesses the financial outlay required to exhibit at industry shows is just not realistically achievable or affordable. Some of these students and companies have amazing home improvement products and services to offer the general public, and so we decided that this would be an ideal opportunity to lend support to the local business community.
“We are expecting record visitor numbers at what is our third Scottish Home Show. Confirmed exhibitors already include big brand names AGA, Baxters Food Group, Costco, Bo Concept, Town and Country Apartments and John Lewis. We are also really looking forward to our celebrity guest appearances, including Tommy Walsh – best known for his role in gardening renovations hit TV series, Ground Force, Linda Barker, home improvement TV presenter and talented interior designer, and TV Presenter Lorraine Kelly.
“With such fantastic things going on at this year’s show, we can’t wait to make our 2014 show the best one yet – and we’d love you to be part of it.”
Andrew Burnett, director at Enterprise North East Trust (Enterprise) says: “The Scottish Home Show provides a fantastic opportunity for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire businesses to showcase their services, meet with other companies involved in the market sector and of course holds the possibility to win some new business. The chance to obtain stand space at this popular event is a great opportunity for local businesses and we wish the best of luck to all applicants.”
Potential stand designs/artist impressions must be submitted in electronic format by Friday, August 22nd 2014 to email@example.com. Stand specifications can be found at www.scottishhomeshow.com. An independent panel of judges will assess all entries, with a winner to be announced on Friday 29th August 2014.
From some of the most luxurious home and garden merchandise, to innovative new technology, gadgets, garden designs, conservatories, and the latest home interior designs, kitchens and bathrooms, the SHS will showcase best products and design associated with the home improvements market.
Premium homebuilder Dandara, renowned in the north-east for its high quality new communities, including Hazelwood and Stoneywood, Aberdeen, has committed its support to the event as main sponsor.
